WIN partners with Wen (Women’s Environmental Network) for Keeping Faith in Climate Action – October 2024
As part of our anniversary Keeping Faith programme, we held ‘Keeping Faith in Climate Action’ in October 2024 at St Ethelburga’s in Central London. This magical venue set the backdrop for building resilience and hope together in the face of climate anxiety and overwhelm. Through inspiring storytelling, break-out sessions and opportunities for reflection and connection throughout the evening, attendees left feeling re-energised, having heard new perspectives on an issue that impacts us all.
We partnered with Wen (Women’s Environmental Network) for this event, bringing their expertise onboard and the wonderful artworks produced by their Climate Sisters programme. The Climate Sisters are a Wen collective that aims to amplify and centre the voices of the underrepresented and marginalised women specifically in the climate arena. The artworks produced by the Climate Sisters provided beautiful focal points throughout the space on the evening.
This event was facilitated by Siobhan Anderson, our keynote speaker was Tori Tsui and we began the evening with a moving performance from The London Climate Choir. The storytelling part of the evening featured a ‘human library’ with audience members able to hear the stories of women working in the climate space in different ways. The human library speakers were Rev. Helen Burnett, Rehena Harilall, Vibhati Bhatia, Farhana Mayer and Nnenna Onwuka.
Thank you to all who leant their expertise for this event and to those who attended and joined us to connect and learn together!
