Women’s Interfaith Network Statement – April 22nd 2025

Women’s Interfaith Network (WIN) joins with our Catholic sisters, the global Church and communities of all faiths and none who he moved with his humanity and compassion, to express our sadness at the death of His Holiness Pope Francis.

In times of deep division, instability and conflict around the world, his constant calls for peace, for the protection of our planet, and to affirm the dignity of marginalised people everywhere, will be sorely missed by the international community. Our WIN community will also remember Pope Francis for his commitment to go beyond interfaith dialogue to interfaith friendship and fellowship, a commitment that he showed throughout his Papacy, and which also dates back to the start of his ministry in his home country of Argentina.

We know his loss ushers in a time of uncertainty and transition for our friends in the Roman Catholic Church and our thoughts are with them during this time.
