Women’s Interfaith Network Statement – August 7th 2025
Food is an integral part of our work at Women’s Interfaith Network (WIN). We regularly see the unique power that sharing a meal and cooking with others has in bringing communities together and reminding us of our common humanity, even if it is just joining together over tea and biscuits.
Food is not just central to our survival, but also to our cultures and identities. We have therefore been horrified to see the starvation and widespread severe malnutrition in Gaza. Civilians must be able to access aid without fear and humanitarians must be allowed to do their jobs timely and safely in the region.
We hope and pray for an end to this suffering and a lasting peace.
