Women’s Interfaith Network Statement – December 15th 2025

Every community must be able to worship without fear. Yesterday, as families gathered for the first night of Hanukkah, we know that many were still reeling from the news of the antisemitic terrorist attack on Bondi Beach.

Our thoughts are with those who lost their lives to this senseless violence, with those who loved them, and with all our friends in the wider Jewish community who are grappling with shock and fear at a time that should be full of light.

Our thoughts are also with Ahmed Al-Ahmed, who’s bravery in confronting the gunman not only saved lives, but reminds us all of the radical, transformative power of interfaith solidarity.

Here at WIN, we will continue to carve out safe spaces of solidarity for women of all faiths and none, working together to challenge hate and division wherever we find it.
