NEWS: East Sussex WIN Celebrate Their 10th Anniversary

Our CEO Marion Waruguru attended a very well organised event in East Sussex on 25th November 2023 with over 50 people from diverse cultures and faiths, marking the 10th anniversary of our East Sussex WIN group (ESWIN). Marion conveyed this message from WIN’s Chairperson, Lady Gilda Levy: “ESWIN is an outstanding and inspiring group of women who epitomise everything that WIN stands for – kindness, respect, understanding and friendship. Through the years you have all continued to work together to help make society and the world more humane and compassionate. In these difficult  times, which sometimes feel so dark, your group is a shining example of humanity in practice giving strength to us all. It is up to us women to make our voices heard in calling for change and a better future for everyone which ESWIN does so successfully.” Three new members joined the group on the day and there was representation from many faiths and cultural food, as well as henna painting, drumming performances and Bharatanatyam dancing from the Lakshya School of Dance.  Attendees shared comments after the event: “A lovely, friendly interfaith group. Looking forward to attending future events!” “ I made a new Gambian friend today, very excited.” “ The drumming, dance and food was amazing and felt loved all round.” “Kudos to ESWIN for organising a special celebration!” Congratulations to ESWIN on 20 years of promoting friendship and embracing difference in your community!
