Women’s Interfaith Network Statement on the Closure of Interfaith Network for the UK

The WIN community is appalled and deeply saddened by the imminent closure of The Inter Faith Network for the UK (IFN) following the withdrawal of promised government funding.

With hate-crime on the rise and community tensions heightened, spaces for inter faith dialogue have never been more critical. The government’s decision to de-fund an established national network that has been bringing communities together for decades is not only short-sighted, but shows a lack of understanding of how precious these networks are.

We stand in full support of our colleagues at IFN and hope that we can find new ways to continue to fulfil our shared mission of promoting friendship and embracing difference.
